The Revd. Peirson’s Parish Magazine writings 1908 – 1913
on the History of Stathern

Over a period of five years till 1913, the Rector of Stathern, Ernest Peirson, wrote occasional articles in the monthly parish magazine about the history of Stathern, which he gleaned from a number of local sources and documentation. Despite a small amount of conjecture, the 37 articles are a fascinating insight into the life and development of the village and its residents. We are fortunate that so many village documents have been preserved and that Ernest Peirson was able to thoroughly research their contents, and pass this on to us in his very readable style.
